Explore the Finger Lakes Region!
The Finger Lakes Region is arguably one of New York’s many shining gems. Wineries, Vineyards, State Parks, lakes (of course), and WATERFALLS all mesh together to create a remarkable regional experience.
Waterfall-rich glens and gullies line the lakes, and the surrounding lands have been shaped by millennia of erosion, offering some of the best terrain for waterfalls.
Hundreds of waterfalls can be found throughout the region; especially in the many state parks. Most notably, Watkins Glen State Park, home of the iconic view of Rainbow Falls and the stone bridge, and perhaps the most popular state park in the region, boasts 19 named waterfalls itself!
Ithaca alone is home to a number of gorges where many unique waterfalls have formed. Robert H. Treman State Park, Ithaca Natural Area, Cascadilla Gorge, and Buttermilk Falls State Park are all prime examples of where the force of water has carved out incredible gorges and created stunning waterfalls.
In this guide, you’ll find a variety of waterfalls from across the greater Finger Lakes region, maps of each county, and a brief bit of information that includes GPS of the falls, and parking (when available). We’ve also included a photo to help with identification so you’ll know you found the right waterfall!
The best part is, this is not just a waterfall guide, but you can also get a patch for visiting a certain number of falls from this guide! See the following page for details!
